Glen W. Roberts II is an international business lawyer, Solicitor, and strategic advisor, serving in an Of Counsel capacity to the the firm.
Glen is committed to making the world an easier place to work, live, and invest ethically, and the geographic breadth of his experience brings Blue Dot’s extensive transactional résumé up to 7 of 7 continents (hello Antarctica!) He has counseled clients including “conventional” and Shari’ah-compliant buy-out and real estate funds, hybrid private equity/hedge funds, investment managers, institutional investors and financial institutions on compliance with U.S. and international securities laws. Glen provides advice on structuring, negotiating and executing:
- all aspects of formation of both conventional and Shari’ah-compliant funds;
- carried interest programs and similar arrangements for private equity sponsors;
- acquisitions and recapitalizations, including “going private” transactions, divisional carve-outs, acquisitions of privately held family businesses, and secondary acquisitions of portfolio companies of private equity firms; and
- myriad structured finance and trade finance transactions.
Glen received his undergraduate degree from Brown University, and his J.D. with honors from the University of North Carolina’s School of Law, as Law Review editor in chief. He previously served as a senior member of the private funds practice at the law firm now known as Dentons, the world’s largest legal practice. Glen is admitted to practice in the State of New York and is also a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales (which means he really can wear the wig!).
